Armored Core 6 could be the next must-play Steam Deck game ; OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) ; CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X ; Memory: 12GB ...
The following Steam Deck game that must be played is Armored Core 6.
The upcoming mech-based shooter Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon's minimum PC requirements have been published by Steam, and it may be ideal for Valve's Steam Deck.
For those who are not aware of the Armored Core series, it was a cult favorite created by FromSoftware before the company gained notoriety for creating the "Soulsborne" games, the most recent of which is Elden Ring. Armored Core, in contrast to the Souls games, focuses entirely on combat in large robot-like mechs, however, you can see the origins of some Souls concepts there, such as managing energy levels and gaining an advantage with wise weapon selections.
Following the enormous success of Elden Ring, Armored Core 6—due for release on August 25—is attracting interest from fans of the series as well as from newcomers who are eager to see what FromSoft does with its upcoming title. I belong to the latter group and am curious about Armored Core 6.
Not the least of which is that Armored Core 6 may function well on the Steam Deck, Valve's portable gaming console, given that the minimum system requirements for Armored Core 6 on PC are comparable to those for Elden Ring.
Elden Ring's art style is nevertheless appealing at lesser settings, even though it looks best at full settings on either a powerful PC or the PS5 and Xbox Series X. So, with a few adjustments, it can be made to run on the Steam Deck at playable frame rates. The same might apply to Armored Core 6.
Below are the required PC specifications:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3300X or Intel Core i5-8600K
- Twelve gigabytes of RAM
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 (4GB RAM), AMD Radeon RX 480 (4GB RAM), and Intel Arc A380 (6GB RAM) are the available graphics cards.
- 12th version of DirectX
- 65GB of storage is available.
I'll qualify all of this by stating that Armored Core 6 is not currently Steam Deck certified, so I don't advise pre-ordering it if you just want to play it on the Steam Deck. However, based on the minimal minimum specifications, I'm a little optimistic that Armored Core 6 will get along with the Steam Deck. Additionally, it might perform well on the Asus ROG Ally, a portable gaming PC that has shown to be largely competent despite a few drawbacks.
Our News Editor Alyse Stanley suggests these games if you're looking for something to play right now on the Steam Deck. Dredge, Computing Writer Tony Polanco praises Marvel's Spider-Man on the Steam Deck, and legendary freelancer Alan Martin has been playing Rustler, or Grand Theft Horsey as he called it. And I'm presently playing Disco Elysium on my Steam Deck, which is great.
